For most people, downsizing isn’t just about moving to a smaller home; it’s about improving overall quality of life.

There’s a lot to consider when downsizing — or, as I like to call it, “rightsizing”. If you’ve been tossing around the idea of finding a smaller, more manageable home, here are a few reasons why it might be time to consider making a change:

    • There’s too much upkeep- Tired of cleaning unused rooms or keeping up with the exterior weeding, mulching, and mowing every year?

    • You want financial freedom-A smaller home is usually less expensive to maintain, not to mention you won’t be paying utilities on unused space! Less money spent on repairs, maintenance, and utility bills = more money to spend on everything else!

    • You have unused space- Your home has rooms that sit unused, such as extra bedrooms or even an entire basement.

    • Health considerations-Are mobility issues or health concerns making it challenging to navigate your current home? Downsizing to a single-story property or one with accessible features can improve your quality of life.
